The exhumed remains of Rudolf Hess, deputy leader of Hitler’s National Socialist German Workers’ Party, will be cremated and scattered over the sea, news agencies reports. His grave at a cemetery in Wunsiedel was unearthed on Wednesday in a bid to put an end to a Neo Nazi pilgrimage.

Hess, who was sentenced to life in prison at the Nuremburg Trial in 1946, committed suicide in Berlin’s Spandau prison in 1987 at the age of 93, according to an official version.
