Nineteen people were injured on Sunday as a result of a 5.0 magnitude earthquake near the city of Beni-Lyman in the south-east of Algeria. According to Algerian geophysicists, the epicenter of tremors was located ten kilometers from Beni-Lyman.

According to Algerian geophysicists, the epicenter of tremors was located ten kilometers from Beni-Lyman. On May 14th an earthquake of similar magnitude, near the city of M'Sila, which is in the same area, claimed the lives of three people, 86 people were injured.

According to scientists, Algeria records up to 60 earthquakes ranging from four to five points on the Richter scale every month, which is considered normal for the North African country.
