An incident that recently happened in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk shows that lightening actually can strike twice in the same place.

As the Russian autumn has brought its characteristic heavy rains, a shocking incident occurred in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk as lightning struck a car moving through traffic twice.

Though the lightning left the car battery dead, nobody inside the vehicle was injured in the incident. Most modern vehicles are equipped with a lightning rod that grounds the charghe, leaving passengers safe even in case of a direct strike.
