Body-Positive Women Find Twinkly Way to Publish Nude Photos on Instagram (PHOTO)

To embrace and highlight the natural beauty of their bodies, a group of ladies stripped off their clothes and covered themselves in bright sparkles for an inspiring project.

#PositivelyGlittered is a project featuring women of all shapes and sizes who accept their bodies "as they are" and pose for photos wearing nothing but glitter. An Instagram account with the same name has so far published less than 20 images, but has already found almost 4,300 admirers. According to Roseanna Mae, the project's founder, the main idea is to encourage body positivity.

A handful of sparkles turns the activity into a little celebration. "Some girls have body image issues, and this is such a fantastic way to aid in the journey of accepting yourself," Mae told Mashable. "Others have personal trauma that the glitter is a step in the direction of feeling comfortable in themselves again."

"Glitter is so striking, beautiful, and really gets the girls wanting to be involved. It is a way to be naked, without being entirely naked," the project organizer said.

Posting completely nude photos on Instagram is not allowed, but since all the intimate parts of the body are covered in the #PositivelyGlittered shots, the social network does not block them. In addition, every woman involved in the project chooses how she wants to be seen and decides whether to cover some parts on her photos.

The glitter shoots are open to the public and the organizers want as many women as possible to join in. "It is such a liberating experience for those involved, and it's about showing real people, with real bodies," said Mae.
