Ground Erupts From Beneath Water's Surface in India

While sometimes water ends up swallowing swathes of land, it seems that, on some occasions, it can also give back what it previously claimed.

According to The Indian Express, the scene that can be seen unfolding in this undated video took place in the state of Haryana.

“This is a new experience. This is amazing. The land is rising on its own. We have no idea what is happening,” the people in the background can be heard saying, as translated by the newspaper.

Theories offered by social media users attempting to explain this sight reportedly ranged from “tectonic activity” and “methane trapped” in the ground to the video itself being played in reverse.
