An officer with Ohio’s Pepper Pike Police Department recently received quite the welcome surprise when he spotted a friendly goose flying alongside a local cyclist.

Shared on the department’s Facebook page, the post indicates that the incident unfolded over the weekend, and that the sociable bird goes by the name “Goose-tav.”

“This is one of our residents and his friend, Goose-tav. Don’t try this at home,” the officer says as the cyclist is seen flapping his arms in an apparent effort to mimic and encourage the goose.

    Checkmate, Maverick.
