Penguins are generally known to be monogamous and mate for life, with some species showing affection for each other and caring for their progeny together which undoubtedly makes these birds among the most romantic creatures in the animal kingdom.

An adorable penguin couple has been filmed while affectionately holding their wings at a beach and looking each other in the eye. At a distance their posture resembles the shape of a heart - the internationally recognised symbol of love.

Twitter users could hardly contain their adoration for the romantic couple. "This is what 'true love' looks like!", wrote one of them in the comments section.
