A passer-by in Astrakhan has captured on video local residents attempting to catch a white-tailed eagle, which is listed in Russia’s red book of endangered species.

The white-tailed eagle appeared on a street in Astrakhan walking near a local school. When passersby tried to catch it, the bird ran into the road, stopping traffic. Drivers had to brake in order to not crush the eagle. Following 20 minutes of attempts, the rare bird was caught and delivered to Astrakhan Zoo, where veterinarians are set to examine the white-tailed eagle and rehabilitate the animal.
