The Soyuz-FG launch vehicle and the Soyuz MS-05 spacecraft were installed on the launch pad at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The rocket will launch the spaceship with a new space crew to the ISS on July 28.

The 52-53 crew members of the International Space Station Expedition include Russian cosmonaut Sergey Ryazanskiy of Roscosmos, US astronaut Randy Bresnik of NASA and Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli from the European Space Agency. None of them are "newcomers": this is the second flight to the ISS for Ryazanskiy and Bresnik, and the third for Nespoli. The crew is expected to spend 139 days at the station.
