Elderly Travel Enthusiast Drives Over 2,000 km From Germany to Russia in Tractor

German traveler Winfried Langner completed an incredible journey to St. Petersburg in his vintage 1961 tractor.

"I came to St. Petersburg because I wanted to get to know the country and the people who live here," he said. The 81-year-old man reached his destination in central St. Pete on July 4 and presented the flag of Lower Saxony to the city administration;s representatives. Langner admitted that people in Russia were friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier. "I can't put into words the feelings that I am experiencing right now," he added.
