A group of doctors and nurses at the Universidad de Chile's Clinical Hospital stopped mid-operation to watch and celebrate Chile's victory against Portugal in the 2017 Confederations Cup semi-final match.

Hospital authorities stated that the operation was successful and patient's condition is satisfactory, but they strongly condemn their staff's behavior and the fact that the TV was switched on in the operating room during the surgery.

The match took place on June 28 at the Kazan Arena in Kazan, Russia. After defeating Portugal in the penalty shootout with Claudio Bravo who stopped the three Portuguese releases, the Chilean national team will play the Confederations Cup final against Germany, who beat Mexico in the second semi-final.
