Russian Battle Tanks Prepped and Ready for V-Day
16:00 GMT 27.04.2017 (Updated: 19:30 GMT 19.10.2022) Armata tanks, Kurganets and Bumerang personnel carriers, and other military vehicles and equipment were cleaned, painted and repaired on April 26 at a military base in Moscow so they could shine brightly at the Victory Day parade.
The traditional Victory Day parade will take place on May 9 on Red Square. The holiday commemorates the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany during World War II. Elsewhere in the world, the day is commemorated as Victory in Europe Day and in some nations, the holiday is observed on May 8.
