Vienna's Precious Panda Twins Allowed to Play Outside for First Time

Subscribe
These two panda cubs were born to Yang Yang on August 7, 2016, at Vienna's Schoenbrunn Zoo. Sadly, half of all newborn pandas die in their first few weeks; that’s why they are only named after 100 days, according to Chinese tradition. These lovely twins grew big and healthy, and now they are released from an indoor enclosure for the first time.

The twins are a boy and a girl. There was even a ceremony held in their honor on November 23, 2016, where the cubs were officially named: the female was named Fu Feng and her brother was named Fu Ban. Now, they are almost seven months old and considered "grown-up" enough to explore the area with a fancy tree trunk climbing frame and meet the public.
