Unique historic materials were found hidden in the roof of the Cathedral of the Assumption in the Russian city of Zvenigorod.

The archive was dubbed the "bird’s archive" because birds used pieces of various paper documents to build their nests. The collection includes pieces of Soviet papers and ration cards from the World War II period. The oldest document found has a reference to the Russian Emperor Nicolas I.
