    Russia Versus ISIL in Syria (618)

    Russian strategic bombers Tupolev Tu-95 (Bear) and Tupolev Tu-160 (Blackjack), as well as Tupolev Tu-22 (Blinder) medium bomber stepped in the war on terrorism on November 17.

    Russia commenced pinpoint airstrikes on terrorists' positions in Syria on September 30 after the request of the country's President Bashar Assad.

    The Russian Tu-160 is a supersonic variable-sweep wing heavy strategic bomber/missile carrier, designed to engage targets around the globe with nuclear and conventional weapons.
