Testing is taking place in Naberezhnye Chelny, Kamaz's home. Test footage features the vehicle driving along an even paved surface, automatically making turns and sensing, stopping for and moving around any puny obstacles in its path.
Engineers working on the truck, built around a modified Kamaz-5350 General Utility truck, couldn't contain their excitement, the video description featuring commentary that "the first kilometers of the pilot-less vehicle are like a toddler's first steps. The parents are just thrilled!"
