You’ve Never Seen Pluto Like This Before

Using images taken by New Horizons during its historic mission to Pluto, NASA has assembled this simulation which shows two regions of the icy world.

The first flyover shows the empty stretches of the Sputnik Plain, named for Earth’s first artificial satellite, launched by the Soviet Union in 1957. The second flyover depicts the Hillary Mountains, named for Sir Edmund Hillary, one of the first two people to ascend Mount Everest.

There’s no sound, but “Also sprach Zarathustra” always goes well with this type of thing.
