Coney Island Celebrates Summer With Artistic Mermaid Parade
11:54 GMT 21.06.2015 (Updated: 19:24 GMT 19.10.2022) The 33rd Annual Mermaid Parade took place in Coney Island, US. Each year thousands of people flock to the streets to watch a fancy-dresses procession led by King Neptune and Queen Mermaid through the neighborhood.
Established in 1983, the parade is held to celebrate the beginning of the summer season and traditionally takes place on the Saturday closes to the calendar start of summer, June 21.
