India's first indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was successfully launched on Wednesday. The vessel is to become the flagship of the western group of India's Navy.
The INS Vikrant is capable of carrying MiG 29-K jets and Ka-28, Ka-31 choppers, as well as advanced light helicopters Dhruv. The ship is to be commissioned in 2017
