Toast Challenge: Can World Champion Generate Enough Energy to Toast Bread?

Subscribe
We all consume energy in the form of food. But how much energy does it take us to prepare breakfast, like toast for example? World cycling champion and German Olympic team member Robert Förstemann accepted the challenge of the Swedish Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Förstemann won the world championship in 2010 in team sprint. His powerful hips were measured at 74 centimeters around. At first glance, the strong sportsman could toast bread with his hands behind his back. But the experiment, in which the energy he generated was used in the toaster, demonstrated that browning a slice of bread is very consuming.  The cyclist lost his breath and collapsed from fatigue.

It was measured that it would take 180 Roberts to power a car and 43,000 Roberts to power an airplane.
