As the US's Northeast experiences strong thunderstorms this week, 16-year-old Carl Bouley decides to capture video of a church across the street from his home in the hopes of seeing it get struck by lightning. And he gets exactly what he hopes for.
Apparently, the church had already been hit by lightning once before in 2007 and seeing the weather conditions, Bouley guessed it would happen again and he didn't want to miss it.
"When I saw the conditions with the atmosphere were the same yesterday, I figured, why not try to record it." He told the Bangor Daily News. "As soon as I pointed the camera to the ground and back up, it happened."
No one was injured in the incident, but authorities say the lightning strike has damaged the church's electrical wiring.
