The first large-scale rehearsal of the May 9 Victory Parade was held on the Red Square, at the very heart of the Russian capital of Moscow.

The rehearsal took place in the night on April 29.

It involved more than 15,000 servicemen both from the Russian military and other countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Serbia, India and China.

The rehearsal also engaged dozens of weapons and pieces if military equipment. Among them were the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer, the Iskander missile system, Tor-M2U anti-aircraft complex, and S-400 anti-aircraft missile.

For the first time, visitors could see armored vehicles based on the Armata, Kurganets and Bumerang platforms.

The motorcade was led by the T-34 medium tank and SU-100 self-propelled gun which were used during World War II.

The next rehearsal is scheduled for May 4, and the final one will take place on May 7.
