Now Departing: F-16 With No Pilot

Subscribe
A US Air Force F-16 has taken off without a pilot.

Designed as an air superiority day fighter, it has become an all-weather multirole aircraft.

The Fighting Falcon has a frameless bubble canopy for better visibility, side-mounted control stick to ease control while maneuvering, a seat reclined 30 degrees to reduce the effect of g-forces on the pilot, and the first used of a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire flight control system, according to the Armed Forces video caption.

The fighter is no longer used by the US Air Force, however, improved versions are still being built for export customers.
