The Moscow premiere of the spy thriller Salt, directed by Phillip Noyce, with the Hollywood star Angelina Jolie in the lead role, took place on the evening of Sunday July 25. The actress had landed in the Russian capital the previous day to introduce the film in person.
Jolie stayed in the most expensive room in the Ritz Carlton hotel, and took part in a short photo-shoot on its roof against the backdrop of the Moscow Kremlin. In the evening, hundreds of fans and journalists waited for her by the entrance to the October cinema on New Arbat street. Many had arrived there several hours before the premiere.
Angelina Jolie chose a red floor length dress to wear on the red carpet. She spent about half an hour by the entrance to the October cinema, signing autographs. The Hollywood star then introduced the film, in which she played a CIA agent and a Russian spy. She had to learn some Russian for the role. Jolie greeted the audience in the cinema in almost flawless Russian, although after a brief “good evening” she reverted to English.
Angelina Jolie flew to Moscow on Saturday evening. After the premiere of the film Salt the actress left the Russian capital.
