Robots and their designers competed in traditional categories: races along a track, bowling, that implies overturning iron cans in a set sequence, and mini-sumo.
Within the Professional Robotics category the Catwalk and Navigation contests were held. The “trained” machines were to autonomously race along a track guided by satellite signals.
The winners of the General Robotics category will participate in the finals at the World Robot Olympiad to be hosted in the Philippines in November, 2010. The teams whose robots were the best in performing the tasks were awarded GAZelle trucks which they will have to refurnish for the RoboCross Seliger 2010 competition of robot cars.
