Chaos has gripped New York after remnants of Hurricane Ida hit the city. The natural disaster paralysed the Big Apple, with water flooding the streets and subway lines. All non-emergency vehicles have been told to stay off the city's roads and highways.The National Weather Service said it recorded more rain on Wednesday than it normally did in a month. At least eight people died from flooding in New York and one person in the state of New Jersey.
