The address will be the newly-elected president's first speech on the issue since his inauguration on 20 January. He previously pledged to overhaul US foreign policy and take a different approach from that of his predecessor, Donald Trump.

Sputnik is live from Washington, DC, where US President Joe Biden is announcing the foreign policy plans of his administration.
