The Democratic Party held control of the US House of Representatives late on Tuesday, with the Democrats winning at least 218 seats, according to an Associated Press report.
According to reports, the Democrats could have won a few extra seats but their majority in the House is likely to shrink.
The party secured their majority after three Congressional candidates won: incumbents Kim Schrier in Washington, Tom O'Halleran in Arizona and Jimmy Gomez in California.
Democrats now hold at least 218 seats in the House.
