The 2020 Democratic National Convention takes place between 17-20 August to formally choose the party's nominees for president and vice president in the 2020 US election. Former US Vice President Joe Biden is the presumptive presidential nominee.

The Convention started on 17 August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with most events being held in a virtual format.

On Thursday night, former Vice President Biden is expected to accept the nomination and address the nation from his home in Delaware. Earlier, US Senator Kamala Harris was nominated as Biden's vice-presidential running mate.

The 2020 United States presidential election is scheduled to take place on 3 November 2020, with Democrat Joe Biden facing US incumbent President Donald Trump as the Republican candidate.
