A small aircraft heading to Indiana crashed in the area near Lake Oconee, Georgia, claiming the lives of a family with two small children, aged 4 and 6.
Local media reported that the plane went down about 3:15 p.m., crashing in a wooden area north of Eatonton. According to Sheriff Howard Sills, the plane was flying from Williston, Florida, to New Castle, Indiana, to attend a funeral.

The Federal Aviation Administration, alongside with the National Transportation Safety Board, has launched an investigation into the crash.
