The Trump administration earlier issued guidelines for states to begin reopening their economies from the COVID-19 induced lockdowns as soon as they register a continuous decline in the number of new infections.

President Donald Trump is speaking with industry executives on the plan for reopening the US economy at the White House on Wednesday.

As the number of new coronavirus cases has declined in more than 20 US states, some of them are preparing to gradually restore their daily routine already this week and later in May.

As of today, the United States has registered more than 1,028,200 COVID-19 infections, with over 59,400 fatalities, according to the Johns Hopkins University count.
