As of this writing, the total number of those infected with the coronavirus in the US is 766,664, according to Johns Hopkins University Resource Centre data.
The state of New York remains the most affected region in the country, with 14,451 deaths in New York City alone, while the national death toll eclipsed 40,900 as of 20 April.
