According to the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention data, over 605,000 coronavirus cases have been registered in the country, with almost 24,600 people pronounced dead.
US President Donald Trump and members of the White House coronavirus task force are holding a press briefing on the COVID-19 situation in the US capital on Wednesday.
On 14 April, Donald Trump announced that the country will end funding to the World Health Organisation, blaming the WHO for “severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus”. The organization stressed that the WHO and the US have long been partners and expressed hope that the partnership would be restored in the future.
