An unidentified vehicle has attempted to enter the White House illegally, the US secret service revealed via Twitter.
According to the service, the vehicle attempted to enter the complex by tailing another legally entering the premises via a checkpoint. The service added that the vehicle was later pulled over and the individual driving it was immediately detained and taken into custody.

According to footage from local TV station Fox 5, the police were searching a black Mercedes-Benz SUV.
Earlier, the federal law enforcement agency reported that it was responding to “a suspicious vehicle”.

The service announced that several roads were closed in relation to the incident and that traffic will remain shut for an unspecified period of time.
Secret Service and @DCPoliceDept EOD are responding to the suspicious vehicle. Road closures remain in effect.
