An incident has occurred near the main gate to the fairgrounds, where the Minnesota State Fair is held annually and attended by thousands of people. Police have closed the entrance near the crime scene, but other exits are open for people to leave.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers are investigating a crash and shooting that occurred on Snelling Avenue. A 19-year-old woman was hit by a car several blocks from the fair, and later shots were fired. At the moment, there is no official information about the victim's condition. It is also unclear if the shooting and the crash are related.

TV station Kare11 has reported, citing police that a witness heard several shots, and, after a pause several more.

At the same time, some reports from social media suggest that several people have been shot, but this information has yet to be confirmed by authorities.

The Minnesota State Fair is a large event, usually attended by thousands of people from across the state. Last Sunday, the fair even broke attendance records with 250,000 people enjoying the festivities.
