    The pilot reportedly did not have authorization to carry a concealed weapon.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Transportation Security Administration has arrested a Southwest Airlines pilot in Saint Louis, Missouri for taking a personal weapon in his luggage, The Hill reported citing St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

    Authorities reportedly apprehended the pilot who was going to fly from St. Louis to Las Vegas, Nevada.

    The airport was cited as saying the pilot did not have authorization to carry a loaded gun and he remains in custody.

    The Southwest Airlines has commented on the issue, "We are currently working alongside the appropriate authorities to gather more information. We have no further information to share at this time."

    Passengers are allowed to travel with firearms that must be properly declared and placed in checked luggage.
