"This was an act of terror," Bill de Blasio, mayor of New York, said following a tragic attack in which a truck mowed down pedestrians and bike riders along a popular path in Lower Manhattan. The suspect was shot by police after reportedly waving guns around and shouting "Allahu Akbar," Arabic for "God is great." Officials later recovered a paintball gun and pellet gun from the scene.
