FBI warning over social media threat leads to schools in Charlottesville, US, being put on a lockdown down amid safety fears.

On Wednesday, all schools in the US city of Charlottesville were put on lockdown after receiving a warning message by the FBI following a threat posted on social media, which expressed discontent with recent events in the city, the local police reported.

"Charlottesville City Schools are currently on a modified lockdown," the release read.

​​The social media post referenced the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, and noted that Charlottesville schools should be the next target, the release said.
