MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the results of The Marist Poll research center's survey published on Sunday, 55, 52 and 56 percent of voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin respectively, disapprove Trump's job performance, while the approval rating is over 30 percent in each of the states.
About 80 percent of those, who had cast their ballots during the 2016 election in these three states, still support Trump, the pollster added.
In 2016, Trump defeated his Democratic Party's rival Hillary Clinton in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that allowed the Republican politician to get the support of 46 members of the US Electoral College. These votes were crucial for his victory, as the politician obtained 304 electoral votes, while Clinton got 227.
The previous poll from the SSRS independent research company indicated that Trump has a 38 percent approval rating among respondents, with 59 percent of Republicans "strongly approving" of Trump — a drop from 73 percent in February.
The recent international Pew Research Poll study of 42,000 people found that majorities in 21 of the 30 nations surveyed thought that the United States has become a more threatening and ominous presence over their nation since 2013. These 21 countries included key US allies such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Spain.
The survey did not ask what specifically threatened the respondents, but the most obvious cause is the election of President Donald Trump — a more hawkish and unpredictable leader than his predecessor. A late June 2017 international Pew poll found that America's favorability rating abroad had sunk from 64 percent in late 2016 to 49 percent today, while foreign confidence in the American president went into freefall: 64 percent to 22 percent.
