Lockheed Martin Wins $45Mln to Develop GPS Satellite Military Software Code

Lockheed Martin won more than $45 million for next-generation military code software to use in future global positioning system satellites, the Department of Defense said in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The contract will enable M-Code tasking, monitoring, and signal in space for current and future global positioning system satellites, the Defense Department explained.

"Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company [of] Littleton, Colorado has been awarded a $45,482,492… modification [contract] for military code (M-Code) early use software," the release stated on Wednesday.

Work on the contract is scheduled to take more than two years and to be completed in December 2019, the release added.
