US Senators Lindsey Graham and Dick Durbin will introduce a bipartisan bill on Thursday intending to help undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States by their parents when they were children.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Hill reported on Wednesday that the 2017 Dream Act is expected to set guidelines similar to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and earlier Dream Act guidelines.

DACA is an executive order issued by former President Barack Obama in 2012 that grants temporary work and residency privileges to so-celled "dreamers" — individuals who arrived illegally in the United States when they were children.

At present, the program is facing a legal challenge from ten US states, and the Trump administration has not said whether it will defend the law in court.

Trump had declined to revoke DACA protections until the deportation of a 23-year-old "dreamer" in February as the first such case reported by the US media in April.
