Mike Dubke, President Trump's communication director, is resigning from his post in the White House.

Dubke is leaving the White House after about three months of work.

The former White House official stepped down on May 18 and his resignation was immediately accepted by US President Donald Trump, Politico reported, citing Dubke himself.

"The reasons for my departure are personal, but it has been my great honor to serve President Trump and this administration… It has also been my distinct pleasure to work side-by-side, day-by-day with the staff of the communications and press departments. This White House is filled with some of the finest and hardest working men and women in the American Government," Dubke emailed his friends, as quoted by the news outlet.

According to the media outlet, the US official was offered to stay in office before the end of Trump's first foreign trip to ensure a smooth transition, however no successor has been announced yet.

Dubke is the founder of Crossroads Media, a GOP firm that specializes in political advertising. He was appointed on March 6 and therefore was in office less than three months.
