    President-elect Donald Trump selected Woody Johnson, owner of the New York Jets football club, to be the next US Ambassador to the United Kingdom, US media reported on Thursday.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — According to CNBC, Trump transition team has confirmed the short-coming announcement of Johnson's nomination.

    Earlier in the day, Trump said during remarks at a luncheon in Washington, DC that Johnson was "going to St. James," signaling that the Jets owner could assume a diplomatic post.
