FAA Bans All Flights Between US and Turkey Indefinitely
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The regional airports near downtown Washington, DC will be closed and additional flight restrictions imposed for the January 20 inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, with a threat to shoot down violators, the Federal Aviation Administration announced in a press release on Tuesday.

"The United States government may use deadly force against the airborne aircraft, if it is determined that the aircraft poses an imminent security threat," the release stated.

Authorities will first attempt to intercept aircraft, and pilots responsible will face criminal prosecution, the release explained.

In addition, half-dozen regional airports will be closed, the release noted.

The restrictions will last for three days, including the days before and after the presidential swearing in, according to the release.
