WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway confirmed she declined to serve as the administration’s press secretary during an interview on Monday.
"I have politely declined that job," Conway said on the Hugh Hewitt radio show.
US media previously reported that Conway had turned down the offer.
"As you imagine in President Trump’s administration, communications will be a very important aspect for it and there will be a number of people handling that," she said on Monday.
The White House press secretary serves as the senior spokesperson for the presidential administration, briefs the media and interacts with the White House press corps.
