US President-elect Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had a really good chemistry with the outgoing US President Barack Obama.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On November 10, Obama and Trump held a meeting in the White House soon after the presidential election.

"I've now got to know President Obama, I really like him. I can say at least for myself, I can't speak for him, but we have a really good chemistry together," Trump said in an interview with the NBC broadcaster.

On November 8, Trump secured the 306 electoral votes required to win the White House. The Electoral College is due to vote on December 19. The inauguration of the US president-elect will take place on January 20.

Trump Takes Obama's Recommendations on Cabinet Picks ‘Very Seriously’

Donald Trump also said in an interview that he has discussed some of his choices for cabinet nominees with President Barack Obama.

"I take his recommendations very seriously," Trump stated.

During his election campaign, Trump criticized Obama and his policies but since winning the election has met with the current president once at the White House, and they two have spoken by phone a few times.

Trump has so far announced selections for about half of his cabinet posts.
