If US Can't or Won't Fight Terrorists, They Should 'Stop Getting in the Way'
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – A 42-year-old man from the US state of Nevada has admitted trying to help terrorists, the Department of Justice said in a press release.

"Balwinder Singh, 42, of Reno, Nevada, pleaded guilty today to conspiracy to provide material support and resources to terrorists knowing and intending that such support would be used to commit terrorist attacks overseas," Tuesday's release stated.

Singh is an Indian citizen but a permanent resident of the United States, according to the release. It said he worked with others in 2013 to support terrorist attacks in India with the goal of creating an independent Sikh state in the country's Punjab region.

Singh faces a maximum punishment of 15 years in prison. His sentencing is set for February 27, according to the release.
