US President-elect Donald Trump was outraged after his senior adviser and former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway criticized Mitt Romney, a potential Secretary of State pick, US media reported on Monday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Two sources in Trump transition team said Trump was "furious" over Conway’s comments, MSNBC reported. A source has also noted that the adviser’s statements rose concerns that she pushes her own agenda.

On Sunday, Conway said some Trump supporters would feel betrayed, if the president-elect selects Romney to serve in the new administration.

Romney strongly criticized Trump during his presidential campaign.

However, reports indicated that Trump is likely to select Romney as the United States’ top diplomat. The two had a private meeting on November 19.
