Mark Elias, a general counsel with US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign, said that the Clinton campaign would "take the same approach" in Pennsylvania and Michigan, "if Jill Stein follows through as she has promised and pursues recounts" in these states as well.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Mark Elias, a general counsel with US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign, said Saturday they planned to join the Green Party motion to recount votes in three battleground states.

"Because we had not uncovered any actionable evidence of hacking or outside attempts to alter the voting technology, we had not planned to exercise this option ourselves, but now that a recount has been initiated in Wisconsin, we intend to participate in order to ensure the process proceeds in a manner that is fair to all sides," he wrote in a blog on the Medium website.

He added that the Clinton campaign would "take the same approach" in Pennsylvania and Michigan, "if Jill Stein follows through as she has promised and pursues recounts" in these states as well.

Green Party nominee Stein confirmed to Sputnik on Friday she was running a campaign to recount votes by hand in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan, where Republican contender Donald Trump won a slim victory, saying "hack-friendly" voting machines were involved.
