US company S4 has been awarded a $99 million contract to provide information-technology services management, including classified and unclassified data, voice and video networks, for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the US Northern Command, the Department of Defense said in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – NORAD is a joint US-Canadian organization that provides aerospace warning and control for the continent – detecting, validating and advising of attacks by aircraft, missiles or space vehicles – through support arrangements with other commands.

"S4 Inc., Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been awarded a $99,000,000 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price contract with cost reimbursement line items for North American Aerospace Defense Command and the US Northern Command information technology systems management," Friday’s release stated.

The Northern Command provides defense from air, land and sea threats and encompasses the continental United States, Alaska, Canada, Mexico and surrounding waters, extending to about 500 nautical miles. It also includes the Gulf of Mexico, the Florida Straits and parts of the Caribbean region.
